Carbon tax will be implemented at R120/tCO2e from 2016.  Draft mandatory reporting requirements are being set by government and the carbon offset paper is published for comments. The World Economic Forum’s 2014 Global Risk Report states that four out of the top ten global risks of highest concern are directly related to climate change. Earlier this year, the latest science report released by the Working Group of the International Panel of Climate Change (IPCC) shows that global climate change related action is not happening fast enough. It also shows that fast action is required to prevent the onset of catastrophic climate change impacts.
