The global, regional and national resources available for development projects have been declining since the global financial crisis of 2009. This has meant increased levels of competition by civil society organizations as well as other non-profit organizations for the little resources available. Writing a wining proposal is now a must if an organization is to access the few competitive grants available.. Our experience has shown that a specific skills set is required for writing winning proposals.
Writing development proposals is a skill that commonly eludes would be proposal writers. This course will provide trainees with the key skills required to write a winning proposal. This course will provide trainees with the key skills required to write a winning proposal. During the course, you'll work on a real--world proposal to take back to your workplace.
After mastering the course's contents, participants will be able to:
• Develop competitive project proposals or concept notes.
• Clearly articulate problem statements, objectives as well as monitoring and evaluation sections in the proposal.
• Basic understanding of logical frameworks and ability to develop one.
• Understand the theory of change and why it is important to have a clear theory of change.
• Search for calls for proposals on websites.
• Describe the key structural elements that should be included in any proposal.
This is an essential course for all project managers and officers responsible for developing new proposals for funding. Representatives of local government and non-
governmental organizations are strongly encouraged to attend this course as it will improve their competitiveness in sourcing development funding.
