To manage the environmental impact assessment process in the Western Cape Province.

Requirements:

  • An appropriate 4 year B-degree (or equivalent qualification) in the environmental management field;
  • A minimum of 6 years post qualification environmental management experience;
  • A valid code B driver’s licence.


Key performance areas:

  • Coordinate the EIA process and the implementation of the EIA regulations for their team with in the sub-region;
  • Participate in the development of EIA and related policies, guidelines, norms and standards ;
  • Ensure the effective and efficient implementation of the provisions of the relevant legislation regarding EIA matters;
  • Perform and manage administrative  and related functions;
  • Human resource management.


Competencies:

  • Knowledge of the integrated environmental management process and applicable legislation and policies;
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape;
  • Project Management and report writing skills;
  • Proven computer literacy;
  • Ability to conduct structured meetings with members of the public as well as other spheres of government.
