June Workshop - Introduction to Remote Sensing – a practical guide for rangeland scientists

Monday, 13 June 2022 (2pm - 5pm) & Tuesday, 14 June 2022 (2pm - 5pm) Every year new earth observation satellites are launched and much of the imagery is freely available to the average user. The online tools to display and analyse remotely sensed data have advanced in line with this big data problem. The objective of this online course is to introduce the newcomer to satellite imagery and its power for environmental research and monitoring, and to update current users with the latest advances. The course will cover the technical background of remote sensing, what is available, and how to access and interpret the imagery for appropriate problems at different scales. No software is required, and no prior knowledge will be assumed. Join us in exploring what satellite imagery can do for Rangeland Scientists in 2022. The course content will be a great introduction to the Research Skills Workshop Remote Sensing and Cloud Computing Platforms, to be held at the GSSA Congress 57 on 25 July 2022.
